Troubleshooting

Problem

The Installation Manager version 1.10 does not support GUI (Wizard) mode on the Linux on IBM Z (Linux-Z) or AIX architectures. Users who attempt to upgrade from a pre-1.10 version using the GUI mode can successfully update the Installation Manager to version 1.10 but attempts to restart or run the updated component in GUI mode will fail. Running the updated version 1.10 Installation Manager in Command Line or Console Mode will work correctly.

Symptom

When updating the Installation Manager from a pre-1.10 version to 1.10 in GUI mode will work correctly, but the attempt to restart the Installation Manager will fail with the following error:

Resolving The Problem

The user can update their Installation Manager using Command Line or Console Mode as an alternative to updating in GUI Mode.

Running the GUI-updated Installation Manager (1.10) will work correctly in the Command Line and Console Modes.
