Abstract

IBM PowerHA for AIX has added support for the following adapters. Unless otherwise noted this support includes vSCSI/NPIV through an underlying VIOS where applicable (FC adapters). Note that this is applicable for all PowerHA SystemMirror V7.X releases.

 IBM PowerHA SystemMirror for AIX: Adapter Support Updates Updated Feb 4, 2021. BM PowerHA SystemMirror for AIX has added support for the following adapters. Unless otherwise noted, this support includes vSCSI/NPIV through an underlying VIOS where applicable (F/C adapters).Please refer to the following information for support details.

 2018 Adapters Qualifications: 

 1H18: 

2 port 32Gbit Fibre Channel adapter, codename redfish feature codes EN1A, EN1B

4 port 16Gb Fibre Channel adapter, codename bluefish feature codes EN1C, EN1D

The device driver for the 2 new fibre channel adapter is based upon the existing device driver for the 2 port 16Gb Fibre Channel adapter (Bluefin)

2x10GbE RoCE PCIe 3.0 x8 adapter codename everglades 10, feature codes EC2S, EC2R,

2x25GbE RoCE PCIe 3.0 x8 adapter codename everglades 25, feature codes EC2U, EC2T

The device driver for the 2 new ethernet adapters is based upon the existing device driver for the 100 Gb Mellanox CX-4 adapter, Glacier Park-EN.

These 2 new network adapters are SR-IOV capable. These are the first Mellanox based ethernet adapters for which AIX / VIOS supports SR-IOV.

2. SR-IOVassigned to VIOS requires VIOS 2.2.3.2 or later.Network failure detection related file netmon.cf should be configured correctly for SR-IOV network interface failure detection.
