Abstract

From the Maximo Support Desk - Viewing Multiple Crafts for the Same Labor Record in Assignment Manager

Body

You've likely discovered that a Labor record can have more than one Craft associated, but you've observed that only the default Craft of each Labor is being displayed in the Assignment Manager - this is the "out of the box" design.  That could be perceived as counter-intuitive to the functionality that the Crafts component is intended to provide.  (oops, did I just say that?)  The good news is that there is a relatively simple configuration that you can implement to display more than one Craft for the same Labor in Assignment Manager.

Use this procedure to configure the display:

  1. Go to Configuration | Application Designer
  2. In the Application field enter "workman" and press Enter
  3. Click on the record for WORKMAN to open it (Assignment Manager application)
  4. Click on the Control Palette icon
  5. Click on the Table Column control
  6. Drag it onto the form in the Labor List section
  7. Close the Control Palette icon
  8. With this control highlighted click on the Control Properties icon
  9. In the Attribute field | Select Value | enter "defaultcraft" in the Attribute field and press Enter
  10. Click on DEFAULTCRAFT to select it
  11. In the Input Mode field | Select Value | click on Query
  12. Save the record
  13. Close the Table Column Properties dialog box

To use the functionality:

  • Go to Work Orders | Assignment Manager
  • In the Labor List section click on Filter
  • The value in the Default Craft for Labor? field will be 1; this needs to be changed to 0 to show the non-default Crafts:
  • With the value highlighted enter 0 and press Enter; this will show the non-default Crafts for the Labor codes.

Hopefully this will help you out with your work assignment duties.
