Error activating ATAP for a second ORACLE instance

Problem

You have one ORACLE installation with 2 instances. Activating ATAP for the fist instance goes without errors, but you get the following error when activating the second instance: ERROR: Guarding - /oracle-guard-original exists - if ATAP is not activated please restore this file manually

Cause

Resolving The Problem

For a multi-instance configuration where a single executable is used for all of the instances, guardctl activate should only be done once as it will be effective for all instances.
